Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230

From 2027, your machine manuals can go digital.

Today, every machine sold in Europe ships with a printed manual. On 20 January 2027, Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 replaces Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and allows the manufacturer to supply the instructions for use in digital form. Less paper, but four conditions to meet.

Until 19 January 2027 A printed manual with every machine Directive 2006/42/EC
From 20 January 2027 An online manual, under conditions Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, Article 10

What the manufacturer must guarantee

  1. Access marked on the machine

How to reach the manual is marked on the machine or, failing that, on its packaging or an accompanying document.

  2. Downloadable and printable

Users must be able to save and print it, so it stays available even when the machine is down.

  3. Online for at least ten years

For the whole expected lifetime of the machine, and no less than ten years after it is placed on the market.

  4. Paper on request

If the buyer asks at the time of purchase, a paper copy is due free of charge within one month.

What we add RetraceDB: your legacy drawings redrawn and searchable

The paper or scanned drawings that come with your machines are traced to DXF or DWG, redrawn from their dimensions and stored in an engineering database. Linked documentation, with links from one page and one document to the next, is the planned next step.

What sets IndustryHub apart

In engineering, calculations, studies and documentation are often spread across spreadsheets, documents and tools that do not communicate. IndustryHub brings the essentials together in one place.

Based on standards

The tools follow the reference documents of the profession: IEC 61508 and IEC 61511, NAMUR recommendations, VDI guidelines.

European

Available in English, French and German. GDPR-compliant, hosted in the European Union.

Modular

Each application works on its own. You add others as your needs grow.

Designed for companies

Named accounts, role-based access rights and an audit trail.
